Design

We can get involved in all stages of the planning process for installing air conditioning on small or large scales. From advice on the types of unit best suited to working out budget costs from building plans, to working out time scales.

Here are some of the factors that may be considered as part of the design process!

Energy Efficient

The government now offers tax relief against profit for the installation of energy efficient air conditioning systems.
Enhanced Capital Allowances (ECAs) enable a business to claim 100% first-year capital allowances on their spending on qualifying plant and machinery.
Businesses can write off the whole of the capital cost of their investment in these technologies against their taxable profits for the period during which they make the investment.
This could deliver a helpful cash flow boost and a shortened payback period

Inverter Technology

Air conditioning systems are sometimes thought of as expensive to run, this does not have to be the case. Nowadays manufacturers are increasingly moving towards inverter type systems. These systems use an integrated inverter control ensuring maximum energy efficiency by supplying only the required heating or cooling load where a standard non-inverter unit would supply maximum load in an on/off position. The inverter systems can use up to around 30% less energy than standard non-inverters.

Ozone Friendly Refrigeration

Once the effects of CFC gases on the ozone were fully appreciated, the leading industrial countries negotiated a common policy to limit the use of these gases.

The Montreal Protocol was signed by 49 countries in September 1987. The agreement which came into force in January 1989 imposed restrictions on the manufacturers of CFC gases (Chlorofluorocarbon).

Today there is a code to stop these harmful gases being released into the atmosphere, which places greater responsibility on the service engineer. The gases must first be reclaimed from the system and then disposed of in the correct manner.

Simply letting these gases escape into the atmosphere can result in large penalty fines for offenders.

Health Benefits

LG have produced a new plasma air purifying system which not only removes microscopic contaminants and dust, but also removes house mites, pollen and pet fur to help prevent allergic diseases like asthma with a filter which can be used over and over again simply by washing with water. You can therefore enjoy clean fresh air without having to worry about changing the filter as in the past and save costs.

  • Proven to reduce air dust particles by over 60%
  • Proven to reduce high concentration of tobacco odours in only 30 minutes
  • In anti allergy clinical tests, the plasma unit has earned a satisfaction ratio of 82%
  • The air purifying filter captures particles as small as 0.1 micron

This is just an example of how Air conditioning manufacturers have progressed in helping with allergies caused by air particles.
